1. Workstation Ergonomics Training

The program is designed to provide current information on prevention of occupational injuries in the office environment. It instructs workers on basic ergonomics, safe work practices and implementation at their workstation.

The following content is covered:

Introduction to occupational injuries
Basic anatomy of the spine
Correct posture
Workstation principles
Adjusting your workstation
Stretches demonstrated

This is a 30-45 minute training session. This includes travel to your work location within the Sydney metropolitan area to present the training

2. Workstation Ergonomics & Risk Management Training

The program covers all aspects as for the Workstation Ergonomics Package with the addition of legal obligations and risk management in the workplace.

Additional topics covered:

Legal requirements
Risk management process
Office assessment checklist

This is a 1 hour training session. This includes travel to your work location within the Sydney metropolitan area to present the training.

For both training packages:

Maximum group size is 20 people (may have to be less, due to room size.)
Suitable room to conduct the training
Whiteboard and overhead projector advantageous
Free posters and handouts
Group attendance sheet and individual certificate of attendance

3. Workstation Assessment

The workstation assessment will be conducted by an Occupational Therapist. A brief checklist style report will be provided for each staff member assessed, detailing the changes to work practices that were implemented and equipment recommendations. It takes approximately 20-30 minutes to assess each employee.
A quote can be provided for this service upon detailing the number of assessments that need to be conducted at the work location.

4. Workplace Risk Assessment

This is where the whole office environment or specific communal areas are assessed for risk i.e. office areas used by a number of staff. A report detailing risks identified and recommendations to control risks will be outlined.

5. Manual Handling Awareness

1 hour training session - this includes education regarding the structures of the human body which enable movement and their relevance to manual handling, principles of correct manual handling and lifting, practical lifting exercises, and a participant handbook containing exercises and stretches to maintain a healthy back. This also includes travel to your site within the Sydney metropolitan area to present the training.

Cost: $450 plus GST

6. Workplace Specific Manual Handling Training

1 hour training session + 1 hour review of work place to tailor training to specific tasks (includes travel within Sydney metropolitan area). Brief written report provided on training session.

Maximum group size is 20 people
Lunch shed or suitable meeting room required
Whiteboard and Overhead Projector advantageous
Discounts for more than one session
Free posters and handouts
Attendance sheet provided
CPD (Continued Professional Development) points can be issued to any attendee and or organization holding building license

7. Introduction To Return To Work Coordination Training

Mend is accredited with WorkCover to provide Return to Work Coordinator training courses.

Mend provides Return-to-Work Coordinator training for Category 1 employers on a demand basis. If you are a Category 1 employee (i.e. pay a Workers Compensation premium greater than $50,000 p.a) you must have a WorkCover trained Return to Work Coordinator.

The course is 2 days duration and commences at 9am and concludes at 4pm daily.

Course content includes the following:

Overview of the WorkCover scheme
Reviewing your Return to Work program
The role of the Return-to-Work Coordinator
Working with key players and the role of the Insurer
Benefits for injured workers
Developing a Return to Work Plan
Coordinators experience and WorkCover contacts

Information on parking locations can be provided. Course costs are $374 (incl. GST for Mend members) or $440 (incl. GST for non-members).

All attendees will be accredited with WorkCover and upon completion will be issued with a WorkCover Certificate.
