WorkSafe Victoria is focusing on the prevention of falls and scaffolding safety ​

In the lead up to the holiday season more Victorian workers die than at any other time of the year. In construction, falls are a leading cause of death.
 
This year two Victorian construction workers fell to their deaths. Many others have been seriously injured.
As part WorkSafe’s focus on preventing falls and ensuring scaffolding safety, our inspectors are visiting sites. Inspectors will check fall protections controls are in place, adequate for the task, and in line with control of risk requirements. 
We want every employer, builder, site manager, contractor, and worker to put safety first so that every construction worker goes home safely and can enjoy this holiday season.
